Q. What area do you service?
I live on the Upper East Side at 96th and can service clients within Manhattan and the surrounding boroughs. I will have to determine distance before accepting a job. I do NOT have a vehicle so all events must be assessed for additional travel considerations or costs.
Q. I want to do a "trial-run" before the event. Do you charge for this?
No. Isn't that nice? I will complete your trial run at Sephora at Union Square where I work as a makeup artist. You will be required, however, to purchase a $50 gift card. You can then use this to purchase the makeup you will need for your wedding.
I will recommend what items you should buy such as foundation, lip
color, cheek color etc. as you will want to have these items for touch-ups
during the night. You may bring photos of makeup looks you like and want to duplicate but please keep in mind your hair color and your complexion. Try to choose photos of models that resemble your color and features. If you have purchased lashes you want me to use the day of the event, bring them so I can take a look. I will recommend what items you should buy such as foundation, lip color, cheek color etc. You will want to have these items for touch-ups during the night.
Q. Can I hire you to do my makeup for my bridal portrait?
Yes. You have two options:
1. I can come to your home or the photos studio for $150 - as long as it is no more than 30 minutes from my home.
2. You can come a couple hours before your shoot for a 30-45 minute session at Sephora for a $50 gift card purchase.
Q. Do you offer any discounts?
If you can increase your party to 10 or 12 participants, I will knock off 20% the total bill. Also, one free junior bridesmaid and flower girl makeup for parties of 8 or more adults.
Q. Can I use my own makeup for you to apply?
Absolutely. I do recommend you bring your own foundation and concealer if you are happy with it. Any other makeup you want me to use is fine as well. My only concern would be to make certain that the colors are correct for you before the event.
Q. Do you airbrush?
Nah. I have worked with airbrush machines in the past and do not find the finished results to be necessarily better than traditional makeup applied with professional brushes and techniques. As for durability, again, when traditional makeup is applied correctly with correct primers, the makeup will last well into the night.
Q. Do you expect a tip?
Most clients do tip 15% to 20% but that is entirely up to you. If you are happy with my services and would like to add a tip, I am happy to accept! Please note I am NOT allowed to accept tips while in Sephora.
One of the best things you can do is to please pass a recommendation of my services on to someone who you know is getting married or is attending a special event!
Q. Will you offer a refund if I am not happy with my makeup?
I will work very closely with you before your event to be certain my abilities meet your expectations. During your trial run session I will communicate openly to be absolutely certain you love the way you look. (But please remember to have realistic expectations of what is possible. For instance, if you have pale porcelain skin do not expect me to make you look like a bronzed goddess!)
However, if for some reason your look just isn't what you thought it would be, don't hesitate to tell me. If after your trial run session with me at Sephora you decide you do not wish to hire my services, you will only be required to purchase the $50.00 gift card.
Q. How large of a party can you accommodate?
I can service up to 12 depending on the time allotted before of the ceremony. A party this large would require 6 hours minimum.
